Mote 1.3.0 Release Notes

Vim mode, twenty-one themes, and a terminal that looks like your terminal.

New

  • Vim mode — normal, insert and visual modes, with your own mappings in ~/.mote/vimrc. Settings › Experiments.
  • Twenty-one themes — Dracula, Nord, Gruvbox, Tokyo Night, Catppuccin, Monokai, One Dark and more. Tune any of them in the workshop, or write your own. Settings › Experiments.
  • ⌘⇧` summons Mote straight into the terminal
  • Choose the font for your terminal, and a separate one for code
  • Powerline separators and file icons now show up in the terminal
  • Code blocks get a language label and a copy button

Improved

  • Text expanders — Alfred, Raycast, TextExpander — no longer truncate what they type into Mote
  • ⌘[ and ⌘] move through your notes in a steady order, and wrap around at the ends (with a new animation in experiments)
  • Quotes, code blocks and wrapped list items all sit where they should
  • Pressing Enter on an empty bullet or quote gets you out of it
  • Frozen now looks as finished as Liquid

Fixed

  • Opening a note no longer changes its edit date
  • Your trial can't expire early because your Mac's clock jumped
  • A quote written as >like this no longer loses its first letter
