Mantic is now open source under the MIT License
Mantic.sh has moved from AGPL-3.0 (dual-license) to the MIT License β the most permissive mainstream open-source license.
What this means for you:
β Use it anywhere, commercial products, SaaS platforms, proprietary IDEs, AI agents
β No copyleft obligations, embed and modify Mantic without open-sourcing your own code
β No commercial license needed, the paid embedding tier is gone
β Applies everywhere, CLI, MCP server, and the VS Code extension
Earlier releases published under AGPL-3.0 remain available under their original terms. Everything from v1.0.26 forward is MIT.
