Mantic is now open source under the MIT License

Mantic.sh has moved from AGPL-3.0 (dual-license) to the MIT License β€” the most permissive mainstream open-source license.

What this means for you:

βœ… Use it anywhere, commercial products, SaaS platforms, proprietary IDEs, AI agents
βœ… No copyleft obligations, embed and modify Mantic without open-sourcing your own code
βœ… No commercial license needed, the paid embedding tier is gone
βœ… Applies everywhere, CLI, MCP server, and the VS Code extension

Earlier releases published under AGPL-3.0 remain available under their original terms. Everything from v1.0.26 forward is MIT.
