Release v0.4.0-beta

This version introduces significant improvements to system stability, automation, and overall footprint. The Desktop v0.4.0-beta is specifically optimized to work in tandem with the Android App v0.4.0-beta.

Major Optimization: Massive Size Reduction

  • Binary Slimming: Through heavy optimization of the compilation process and dependency management, the compiled package size has been reduced by approximately 70-80%. This results in faster downloads, a smaller disk footprint, and more efficient execution without sacrificing features.

New Features & Automation

System Boot & Startup

  • Auto-Launch on Startup: Added a new setting to allow the application to start automatically with the OS. This feature has been tested and verified on Windows, DEB packages, and Tarball distributions.
  • Instant Server Mode: You can now configure the app to start immediately as a Server upon launch, with pre-set preferences for Unicast or Multicast modes.

Intelligent Connection Management

  • Auto-Connect to IP: Based on user feedback, the app can now automatically connect to specific IP addresses as soon as they are detected online.
  • Connection Priority: A new priority system allows you to rank saved IP addresses. The client will prioritize connections to servers with higher priority values if multiple devices are detected simultaneously.
  • Optimized Client Workflow: When auto-connect is enabled, the app will automatically navigate to the Client page on startup (including during auto-boot) to ensure immediate audio synchronization.

Technical Fixes & Improvements

Reliability

  • Ghost Server Fix: Resolved an issue where "phantom" server instances remained in the discovery list even after the physical server had closed.
  • WFAS Handshake v2: Improved the proprietary WFAS protocol handshake. This reduces negotiation time and enhances initial stream stability.
  • Protocol Alignment: Updated communication logic to match the new standards introduced in the Android 0.4.0-beta release.

Known Limitations

  • Auto-Connect Trigger: The auto-connection feature requires the application to be on the "Client" page to trigger. This works as intended even if the application is minimized to the system tray.
