What's new

Systematic 3.0.0 is the curation major: the bundled catalog is reshaped around the compound-engineering workflow core, the legacy conversion machinery is gone, and the same npm package now ships a second harness — the Pi coding agent.

Breaking Changes

The bundle is curated down to 31 skills and 37 agents (from 46 and 51). The Ruby/Every vertical (dspy-ruby, dhh-rails-style, andrew-kane-gem-writer, every-style-editor, ankane-readme-writer), peripheral integrations (rclone, gemini-imagegen, test-xcode, proof, feature-video, report-bug-ce, changelog, generate_command), stack-specific review personas (kieran-rails-reviewer, kieran-python-reviewer, dhh-rails-reviewer, julik-frontend-races-reviewer, schema-drift-detector, lint), duplicate standalone reviewers (security-sentinel, performance-oracle, data-integrity-guardian, data-migration-expert, cli-agent-readiness-reviewer), the Figma-dependent design agents, and the setup placeholder skill are removed. The todo trio (todo-create, todo-resolve, todo-triage) merges into a single todos skill, and writing-systematic-skills folds into writing-skills. (#611, #587)

Removed names fail soft. Referencing any removed skill or agent in disabled_skills/disabled_agents warns and is ignored instead of failing config validation, and the warning links the migration guide. Every removal is mapped to its replacement in the v3 migration guide. (#614)

The CC→OpenCode runtime converter and systematic convert CLI are removed (#612). Bundled content ships pre-normalized; the converter had been a no-op on every load since 2.32. The skill deprecation-warning machinery and the deprecated: frontmatter contract go with it.

Features

Pi coding-agent harness support. The same @fro.bot/systematic package now loads in Pi via a pi manifest (extensions, skills): bundled skills surface as native Pi skills, systematic_skill resolves skill content through the shared resolver, the using-systematic bootstrap is injected into every session, and a new systematic_delegate tool runs bundled agent personas as in-process child sessions — fail-closed on unknown personas, capped at 20 turns, with least-privilege tool allowlists derived from each persona's frontmatter. A setup --harness opencode|pi CLI command writes the project-local config for either harness atomically, with backup and idempotent re-runs. Where Pi parity honestly ends (no systematic.json config consumption, no permission gating in Pi 0.80.6) is documented in the Pi harness guide. (#623–#638)

The Pi integration is proven against the real runtime: an integration suite spawns the actual Pi CLI in RPC mode with a mocked model and asserts extension load, skill discovery, skill resolution, bootstrap injection, and persona delegation end-to-end from the packaged tarball. (#637)

Documentation

The v3 migration guide maps every removed skill and agent to its replacement and covers the converter removal and config cleanup. The published JSON Schema moves to schemas/v3/ (the config $schema example now points at schemas/latest/).
