Blink 1.3.0
Path rules for Blink on macOS 14 and later.
- Rules can now be limited to a path. Add
/acmeto agithub.comrule to send onlygithub.com/acme/…to Arc · Work, while the rest of GitHub follows your other rules or shows the picker. - A path covers itself and everything below it, one segment at a time:
/teammatches/team/pagebut not/teams. Case doesn't matter, so/Team/pagematches too. - Put path rules above a rule for the whole domain. The Rules tab warns when an earlier rule means a later one is never used.
- The rules list, the "Test a link" field and the warnings show path rules as
github.com/team.
Existing settings carry over and are upgraded the first time Blink saves them. After that, Blink 1.2 can't read them: if you go back to 1.2, it leaves the file untouched and runs without your rules until you update again.
Opening Blink the first time
This build isn't signed with an Apple Developer ID, so macOS blocks it the first time you open it. Move Blink to Applications and open it once. Then go to System Settings › Privacy & Security, find the message about Blink and click Open Anyway. You only need to do this once. To check that your download came from this release, compare it with SHA256SUMS.txt.
Blink 1.2.0
Browser profiles for Blink on macOS 14 and later.
- Browsers with several profiles get a › in the picker. Click it, or press →, to show their profiles and open the link in one. ← hides them again. Choosing the browser itself still opens the link the way it always did.
- Works with Arc (by space), Dia, Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi, Zen and Firefox. Safari has no way to choose a profile from outside, so it stays a single row.
- Rules and "Always open" can send a domain to one profile, such as
github.com→ Arc · Work. - Settings › Browsers lets you hide profiles you never pick, and the Rules tab warns when a rule's profile is gone.
- If a profile disappears, Blink says so and lets you open the link without it. It never falls back on its own.
- The picker's buttons now highlight under the pointer, and Open keeps the same width as the selection moves.
The first time a link goes to an Arc space or a Dia profile, macOS asks whether Blink may control that browser. Blink needs this to pick the space or profile; everything else works without it.
Blink now reads each browser's profile list to show profile names. It keeps only the names and IDs, and never reads history, cookies or tabs.
Existing settings carry over and are upgraded the first time Blink saves them. After that, Blink 1.1 can't read them: if you go back to 1.1, it leaves the file untouched and runs without your rules until you update again.

Blink 1.1.0
A redesigned picker for Blink on macOS 14 and later.
- The picker is more compact, with smaller rows and keycap shortcut hints.
- An action bar names the key for each action: Copy (⌘C), Cancel (esc) and "Open in " (↩), which always names the browser Return opens.
- On macOS 26, the picker uses Liquid Glass, with glass buttons and a prominent Open button. macOS 14 and 15 keep a material background.
Rules, settings and keyboard shortcuts work as in 1.0.0, and existing settings carry over.

Blink 1.0.0
First release of Blink, a browser picker and link router for macOS 14 and later.
- A picker next to the pointer for links opened from other apps. Choose with 1 to 9, the arrow keys and Return, or a click.
- Domain rules, with optional subdomains, that send links straight to one browser. The first match wins, and Settings warns about rules that can never apply.
- "Always open this domain here" from the picker.
- Clear recovery when a browser is missing or refuses a link. Links are never sent somewhere you didn't choose.
- Default-browser setup, launch at login, an optional menu bar icon, Open Link for trying Blink first, and local HTML files.
- No history, no network requests, no URLs in logs.
Tested on macOS 26.6 (Apple silicon, and the Intel build under Rosetta) with Arc 1.168, Dia 1.53, Chrome 155, Zen 1.17, Safari 26.6 and Brave 1.97. On macOS 14 (virtual machine), Arc, Dia and Safari were tested.
To stop using Blink, choose another default browser in System Settings › Desktop & Dock, turn off Open Blink at login, and move Blink to the Trash.
