Release of Windows Activity Tracker and Location Android Application
This release contains binaries for Windows Activity Tracker application and APK for Android Location application
Windows Activity Tracker
This binary is for x64 architecture. We haven't provided Windows installer along with it so that you, our user, can pick where to save this program in your computer. This zip file contains multiple dlls and resources. All these files need to stay in the same location where the main exe file is.
If you don't have x64 architecture on your Windows PC, please go to the README page of the given application where you'll find instructions for compiling it yourself.
When running the compiled exe, the following warning may be shown to you from Windows:
You need to click on More Info and then on Run Anyway.
Android Location application
This APK file is for installing your application manually on your Android device with the Google Play Store. If you want to install it, you need to enable installing unknown applications on your device. Please look it up yourself on how to do it as there are many different versions of the Android operating system and enabling of such a feature may differ.
If you don't want to install it on your device, you can download Android Studio and Android emulator and start the application there. Recommended emulator is Pixel 8 Pro API 34.
When we tried to install the application from given APK file, it looked like this:
Firstly, we needed to copy this APK file to the emulator. We navigated to this path C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\platform-tools. Opened terminal in this directory and typed the following:
adb push [path to your APK file]/app-release.apk /sdcard/application.apkThen, we opened the files application on the android device and found SD card by name sdk-gphone64... - naming may differ.
After clicking on it, we were moved to the settings where we allowed it:
then we clicked on the APK file again and clicked Install:
Afterwards, App Scan by Google Play Store was shown. You need to click on More Details:
And then we clicked on Install Without Scanning:
And now the application is prepared and successfully installed. It's important to say that you need to open Google Maps application at least once if you are using this emulator. For some reason, the GPS works only if that application has been opened at least once.
