imapSyncGUI v0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@marijustechin marijustechin released this 14 Sep 11:55

First public Windows x64 installer for imapSyncGUI.

  • First public Windows x64 NSIS installer (unsigned).
  • The application bundles the imapsync runtime; end users do not need Perl, imapsync, Strawberry Perl, or any other runtime installed.
  • The installer is currently unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen / Microsoft Defender may show a warning.
  • If the file was downloaded from this official GitHub Release, you can choose "More info" -> "Run anyway".

Note: this is an unsigned build; no Authenticode certificate is applied.

imapSyncGUI v0.1.0 — E2E Test Build 3

Pre-release end-to-end test build from the current verified main branch.

  • Commit: 411dae35a571a7e190d43f6be80a342ec4875a52 (TASK-014)
  • Included fixes:
    • macOS arm64 Net::SSLeay / OpenSSL portability — the bundled runtime's
OpenSSL dylibs are now embedded in the PAR archive and referenced via
@loader_path, so the runtime no longer depends on Homebrew OpenSSL
      (/opt/homebrew) at run time (ADR-018).
    • Improved migration failure UX — typed failure categories, a concise
user-facing failure message, and raw loader diagnostics moved to a secondary
      "Technical details" section.

The arm64 DMG comes from the successful native Apple Silicon CI run
(https://github.com/marijustechin/imapsyncgui/actions/runs/34590679495) and was
independently checksum- and architecture-verified. The x86_64 DMG was built and
verified locally on macOS x86_64 (runtime validation, host-isolation self-test,
and packaged smoke test).

Status

  • Unsigned / not notarized. The .app is ad-hoc signed only; macOS
Gatekeeper will require manual approval on first launch.
  • Not production-ready. This is an end-to-end test build.

imapSyncGUI v0.1.0 — E2E Test Build 2 (DMG, ad-hoc signed)

Pre-release build for clean-machine end-to-end verification (TASK-010). This is
not a production release.

Which file do I download?

Pick the DMG that matches your Mac. The filename always names the architecture.

Your Mac CPU Download
Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4…) arm64 imapSyncGUI-0.1.0-mac-arm64.dmg
Intel Mac x86_64 imapSyncGUI-0.1.0-mac-x64.dmg

How to check (no technical knowledge needed):

  • GUI: Apple menu → About This Mac. The "Chip" line (Apple silicon) or
"Processor" line (Intel) tells you which.
  • Terminal: run uname -m:
    • arm64 → Apple Silicon → download the arm64 DMG
    • x86_64 → Intel Mac → download the x64 DMG

Downloading the wrong architecture is a common cause of "the app is damaged"
errors — please verify the architecture before launching.

Signing / notarization

  • The app is ad-hoc signed but not Developer ID signed and not
    notarized
    (no Apple Developer Program credentials).
  • A Gatekeeper warning is expected on first launch. The normal user action is
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway (or Control-click → Open),
    depending on the macOS version.
  • This release fixes a packaging defect in v0.1.0-e2e.1 where the arm64
bundle was only linker-signed, causing Gatekeeper on Apple Silicon to
misreport it as damaged ("move to Trash") instead of showing the normal
    "unidentified developer" approval flow.

Installation (no terminal required)

  1. Download the correct DMG for your Mac.
  2. Open the DMG.
  3. Drag imapSyncGUI to Applications.
  4. Launch it from Applications.
  5. If macOS blocks the app, use the normal Privacy & Security approval.
