NewFile 0.2.4

New

  • Rich Text (.rtf) file type. Turn it on in Preferences. New files start with a minimal RTF header, so TextEdit opens them as rich text. A completely empty .rtf isn't a valid RTF document.
  • The setup window now points you to Customize File Types… so you can find file types, menu labels and templates from the start.

Known limitation

  • In iCloud Drive folders (including Desktop and Documents when they sync to iCloud), Finder doesn't show NewFile's right-click items. The toolbar button works there. See the README.

Under the hood

  • Automatic updates now download a separate update archive (NewFile-update.zip) instead of the installer disk image. To install manually, use NewFile.dmg.
