RMS Camera Monitor
Pre-release
Pre-release
A simple desktop app for Windows, Linux and MacOS to allow you to check that your cameras are uploading to GMN.
This tool is NOT intended to be run on the Pi. It can be run there, but that defeats the point which is to be able to remotely monitor uploads without having to login to the Pi :)
Installation
Windows
- Download checkStatus.zip and unpack it into a folder of your choosing.
- Rename the sample config file to rmsmonitor.ini, and edit it to contain a comma-separated list of the stations you want to monitor.
- Create a desktop shortcut pointing to checkStatus.exe.
Linux and MacOS
Note: you will need Python 3.7 or later installed.
- Create a folder RMSMonitor in your home directory.
- Download the checkStatus.tar and unpack it into the above folder.
- Rename the sample config file to rmsmonitor.ini, and edit it to contain a comma-separated list of the stations you want to monitor.
- Open a terminal window, and install the Request library by typing "pip3 install -r RMSMonitor/requirements.txt"
- Copy the .desktop file to the Desktop folder in your home directory.
- This should create a desktop icon from which you can run the tool.
I do not have a Mac to test on, so the desktop icon may not work. In that case create the MacOS equivalent which runs "python3 $HOME/RMSMonitor/checkStatus.py" and which sets the startup folder to $HOME/RMSMonitor.
