Release list
Pocket OS v0.3.0-rc3: Games and Companion
Pocket OS 0.3.0-rc3: Games and release cleanup
A pre-release for M5Stack Cardputer ADV, 8 MB flash, no PSRAM.
- Portrait Tetris with 10px cells, seven-piece bag, next/ghost preview, pause,
held-arrow repeat and landscape restoration on exit. - Klondike with correct suit colours, sequence moves, stock recycling and
scrolling column selection. - Colour DOOM LITE with walls, enemies, collision, real hit detection, ammo,
contact damage and a reachable exit. Original raycast adaptation, not DOOM/WAD. - Separate, host-testable game rules and game rendering; one framebuffer.
- Current rc2 dependency/security/YTMamp baseline retained; documentation and
installation asset claims reconciled. - Companion marks imports and note backups busy, blocks competing jobs and
refuses shutdown during transfer; loopback HTTP regression covers the state.
Install
Download cardputer-abvx-minimal.bin, bootloader.bin, partition-table.bin
and SHA256SUMS.txt. Verify checksums and follow INSTALL.md after backing up
internal recordings/settings. No Voice partition image or merged whole-flash
image is supplied. Do not erase flash for an ordinary upgrade.
The optional source/Companion archive contains canonical host tools and local
Mac installer; it is not a standalone Python runtime or a notarized app.
Evidence and limits
Software tests, render fixtures, firmware compilation and CI results are distinct
from physical-device acceptance. Check the associated commit's Checks workflow.
Games and other new rc3 paths require the hardware checklist; previous media
observations are recorded separately. GPS is paused after direct UART diagnostics
received zero bytes. This release does not claim working satellite tracking.
M5Burner/stable promotion remains pending. Software preview images are labelled
as renders. The next demo will show the actual tested device features.
Verification
- Repository: markoblogo/Pocket-OS-Cardputer-ABV; target commit: 017ebcf.
- Full host regression suite and game rules under ASan/UBSan: passed locally.
- 9,999 mixed game inputs and portrait/landscape text-bound checks: passed.
- Companion HTTP regression includes import-busy/shutdown protection: passed.
- Local Mac installer build and ad-hoc signature verification: passed.
- Official firmware and source kit: built by ESP-IDF 5.4.4 CI at https://github.com/markoblogo/Pocket-OS-Cardputer-ABV/actions/runs/39786641877.
- Firmware size and every asset checksum: checked before publication.
- Physical rc3 gameplay, Voice/ASR, interrupted-write and endurance gates: pending.
- GPS: paused; no working receiver/fix claim.
The owner requested this GitHub pre-release publication. Stable and M5Burner
promotion are not included. Preview graphics are software renders, not device
photographs. Games controls
and hardware ledger.
Pocket OS v0.3.0-rc2
Maintenance, reproducibility, and local player-integration candidate for M5Stack Cardputer ADV.
- Corrects Transfer, upload, security, licensing, and hardware-acceptance documentation.
- Generates a fresh Transfer password for each session.
- Updates ESP-IDF to 5.4.4, M5GFX to 0.2.28, and M5Unified to 0.2.21.
- Implements YTMamp cast API v1 with JSON commands, API-version negotiation, and shared-token LAN authentication.
- Pins the machine-readable YTMamp contract and checks it against the source repository in CI.
- Produces checksummed firmware assets and verifies packaged Companion resources.
Software evidence: host and firmware CI passed on final main commit b5bfe92caa344e5b4cf0d67d576b1f4e790b14f9 (run 34848505272). The firmware binary identifies itself as 0.3.0-rc2.
Physical display, keyboard, SD, audio, Voice Transfer, GNSS, endurance, power, and Cardputer-to-YTMamp LAN checks remain open in issue #11. This is a pre-release. Stable v0.3.0, M5Burner publication, and real-device claims remain blocked until the hardware matrix passes.
Pocket OS + ABVx Companion 0.3.0-rc1
0.3.0-rc1
Pre-release: data protection, Journey freshness and desktop Companion.
- Non-destructive mount failure behavior and Inbox backup recovery.
- Staged, content-deduplicated music/book sync with index recovery.
- Internal Voice HTTP export with hash checks; originals retained.
- Optional host transcription setup, not bundled model weights.
- GNSS fix freshness and guarded Journey CSV updates.
- Native Mac Companion installer, compact terminal-style UI and ABVx icon.
- Connection guidance separates USB, SD reader and Transfer Wi-Fi.
Development evidence: host checks and ESP-IDF compilation passed earlier in this
work. No new full test pass is claimed for the final UI/icon packaging changes.
Physical GNSS, live Voice Wi-Fi and real model transcription remain separate gates.
Firmware asset offsets (ESP32-S3, 8 MiB flash): bootloader at 0x0,
partition table at 0x8000, application at 0x10000. Back up first. Do not erase
flash or write a full-flash image over internal recordings. The release contains
individual firmware binaries, not a private device backup.
The Mac source/setup archive includes the native installer and Python source,
not a universal, Python-bundled or notarized app. It requires a local Python 3
installation and Apple command-line build tools. Firmware actions additionally
require this repository and ESP-IDF 5.4.2. Refer to docs/COMPANION_DESKTOP.md.
