Heltec v3 bluetooth not working #1009

I can get the bluetooth working on this latest version of the rnode firmware I put it and paring mode it is not showing in the bluetooth list on my phone. It works with meshcore and Meshtastic just not reticulum. Any guidance? |

After posting this i found another thread about this same issue. Im going to try that and report back. Im on android 16 and rnode firmware 1.85 and sideband 1.8.0 im going to try the 1.8.1 to see if that helps Sorry for not explaining it kinda flustered. |

I've flashed 2 Heltec V3s (clarification: these are MakerFocus ESP32 LoRa V3 off Amazon. Not actual Heltecs if that makes a difference. They are Heltec clones) They are not appearing in my Bluetooth list after scanning for them. Samsung S25 Ultra. Successfully went went through the FW flash, provision and hash steps. Holding the Prg (left button) on the Heltecs for a few seconds generates a Pairing Code. Scanning for new devices on my Samsung S25 Ultra shows nothing. Both devices were Meshtastic nodes prior to being converted to RNodes and worked fine. Screen shows hardware check Ok Tx ready. If I hold the program button down for a while I get the WiFi ap and IP address. My phone will see this and connect to it though nothing appears in Sideband. . What am I missing? Android 16 (Up to date) |

I got an old T-Beam to work as an RNode. Everything worked as it should still nothing on the Heltecs. |

On Android 16, many BLE devices are now "invisible" in the system Bluetooth pairing screen. You have to use the pairing functionality in Sideband itself instead. Go to Hardware -> RNode and use the Scan / Pair buttons. |
