Download Saylo.dmg, open it, and drag Saylo into Applications. Existing configured beta installations can use Check for Updates.

No app installation, relaunch, or permission changes were performed by the coding agents.

Fixed

Live dictation no longer stops just because an empty editor’s paragraph marker disappears after its first native paste. Acceptance requires an exact inserted draft and caret match; real document content and retained newlines remain protected. This regression is covered by tests.

Better local diagnostics

Per-dictation numeric session traces follow recognition timing, preview sizes, replacement ranges, caret/selection read-back and exact interruptions. Terminal traces distinguish input, focus/window, secure input and recognition revisions. Export Diagnostics includes these traces; dictated words, clipboard contents and audio are not logged or uploaded automatically.

Includes the recent 10-item session history, four-second result countdown and quieter live preview improvements from 0.4.2/0.4.3. All 47 offline checks and the release build passed. App/DMG signatures, archive authenticity and tamper rejection were verified. Receiving-app behavior and actual updater installation/relaunch still need tester confirmation.

Use Saylo-0.4.4-9.dmg for a fresh install. Existing configured 0.4.2/0.4.3 installations can choose Check for Updates and install 0.4.4/build 9. Automatic checks are optional and off by default.

The deliberately older 0.4.2 updater-test installer remains available for testing a full update cycle.

This is a stable locally signed beta, not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized. macOS can block it on other Macs. Do not disable macOS security protections. Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later; first speech-model download requires internet.

This beta includes faster live previews with smaller editor updates, an append-only path for Apple Terminal, the last 10 dictations in session memory, and a four-second recovery-card countdown. Click the screen-edge island to recover a result. Recent dictations clear when Saylo quits; secure input is excluded.

Use Saylo-0.4.3-8.dmg for the latest beta. Move Saylo into Applications after quitting older copies.

Test Check for Updates

1. Install Saylo-update-test-0.4.2-7.dmg instead of the latest installer.
2. Open the Applications copy and choose Saylo menu → Check for Updates.
3. It should offer 0.4.3 (build 8). Install and relaunch, then check the version in Settings.

Both versions include the same functional fixes; the newer version exercises the signed update flow. Automatic update checks are off by default. The feed and archive signatures are verified before publication; actual installation/relaunch and receiving-app behavior require tester verification.

Beta distribution status

This is signed with a stable local certificate and uses mandatory Ed25519 update verification. It is not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized; macOS can block it on other Macs. This is a beta for testing, not an App Store/TestFlight release. Do not disable macOS security protections.

Speech recognition runs locally. The initial speech-model download needs internet. Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later. No source code, signing secrets or user data are included in this repository.
