H.264 / WebRTC
OpenH264 is not bundled. Download it from Cisco via Admin > Encoder Settings.
Known issues
- Firefox on Windows: WebRTC video does not display because
MediaStreamTrackProcessoris undefined. Use Chrome or Edge, or switch the Broker to WebSocket mode. - Fewer than 6 CPU cores: streaming may stutter, since video is encoded in software. OpenH264 needs at least 6 cores to run smoothly.
- OpenH264 tops out at about (30–35 avg) FPS. Up to 60 FPS needs x264, HEVC or NVENC, which are not included for licensing reasons.
- JPG encoding works only in WebSocket mode (not WebRTC). It needs little CPU but much more bandwidth, typically over 30 Mbps.
