Better Fullstack 2.0.3 — OpenAPI APIs and Nx workspaces

This release turns two community requests into first-class stack choices. openapi now works as a TypeScript API option across the CLI, Web Builder, shared schema metadata, generated templates, and release checks. nx joins the workspace tooling lineup alongside Turborepo, with generated workspace configuration and root scripts that fit the rest of the stack.

📘 OpenAPI API scaffolds

Choose openapi from the CLI or Web Builder to scaffold REST-style TypeScript APIs with an OpenAPI 3.1 contract, generated /openapi.json, and an openapi:verify script that catches spec drift in generated projects.

The option is wired through the shared schema, compatibility rules, stack translation, option metadata, tech icons, resource links, CLI prompts, web preview state, and template snapshots, so OpenAPI projects behave like the existing API choices instead of a one-off template path.

🧱 Nx workspace tooling

Nx is now available as a workspace tooling addon. Generated projects can include nx.json, root-level Nx scripts, task target defaults, dependency wiring, and package config output that understands build, lint, type-check, database, Docker, and deploy tasks.

Nx and Turborepo are treated as mutually exclusive workspace orchestrators, so users get one clear task runner instead of overlapping root tooling.

🛠 Fixes and polish

  • Fixed OpenAPI health checks in Vinext templates to read env.VITE_SERVER_URL instead of the Next-only NEXT_PUBLIC_SERVER_URL.
  • Hardened Nx database scripts by using explicit targets for db:* commands, preserving package-script names that contain colons.
  • Expanded CLI addon validation so Nx can be selected and tested like other workspace tooling.
  • Added generated-project coverage for Hono + OpenAPI + Better Auth, including check-types and openapi:verify.

  • Added package config regression tests for Nx root scripts and dependency output.
  • Updated generated template snapshots for the new API and workspace-tooling combinations.
