ARSAS v1.6.42 — Public Stable (Windows x64)

ARSAS v1.6.42 is the latest operator-accepted stable Windows release, delivering an improved IEC 61850 engineering workstation with enhanced multi-IED monitoring, control operations, Sampled Values visualization, and a refined user experience.

This release incorporates the latest integrated improvements and has successfully passed automated regression testing, Windows packaging validation, and operator application acceptance.

What's New

IED Browser & Engineering Tools

  • Improved IED Browser with Reports, DataSets, Data Model, Files, Setting Groups, and GOOSE.
  • Clear identification of selected IED names and IP addresses.
  • Model-backed object inspection, scoped MMS Read, typed Write, and verified readback.
  • Improved per-IED navigation state and responsive engineering workflows.

Multi-IED Monitoring & Reporting

  • Report-first monitoring with consistent per-IED signal values, quality, and timestamps.
  • Static DataSet-based monitoring and accurate event source identification.
  • Responsive multi-IED workspace with optimized, bounded UI updates.
  • Improved RCB monitoring and report visualization without unnecessary cyclic MMS polling.

IEC 61850 Control & Write

  • Improved ctlModel detection, selection, Write, and verification.
  • Immediate CSWI reinspection after configuration changes.
  • Enhanced SBO control sequences with association-aware safety checks.
  • Verified command termination and process feedback on tested SG7_BCU and GR_X_7SX85 targets.
  • Fail-closed command admission when control capabilities cannot be verified.

Sampled Values, GOOSE & Time Synchronization

  • Enhanced SV/SMV waveform visualization.
  • Passive first-received SV discovery without requiring SCL/SVCB configuration.
  • Improved interoperability with ARStack M3.H, including untagged and VLAN-zero frames.
  • Improved GOOSE event timeline and SNTP IPv4 presentation.

Refined Windows Experience

  • Consistent modern cool-blue interface, controls, and dialogs.
  • Compact Smart IP configuration.
  • Improved startup window sizing and responsive layouts.
  • Better navigation, readability, and device-specific state retention.

COMTRADE Analysis

  • Integrated COMTRADE viewer powered by the pinned ArdIrec native engine.
  • Validated native bridge integration and engineering analysis capabilities.

Validation & Quality Assurance

The release workflow completed successfully with:

  • 2,987/2,987 ARSAS application tests passed.
  • 1,272/1,272 selected ARIEC61850 engine regression tests passed in the integration validation.
  • 6/6 native bridge tests passed.
  • Successful Windows installer and portable executable verification.
  • Successful installation/uninstallation smoke tests.
  • Verified SHA-256 checksums, SPDX SBOM, provenance, and artifact attestations.

Operator validation — October 25, 2026

The operator diagnostic confirmed:

  • 5/5 endpoints connected and monitoring.
  • 183/183 initial process values displayed.
  • 14/14 static RCB routes receiving reports.
  • Successful targeted ctlModel Write/readback and SBO Enhanced control operations on SG7_BCU and GR_X_7SX85.

These results demonstrate the tested application functionality and commissioning scenarios; they do not constitute universal hardware interoperability certification.

Known Limitations

The latest diagnostic observed 432 report frames, including 38 continuity findings and 9 IED-reported BufOvfl indications.

These observations do not necessarily represent 38 lost events. However, complete buffered SOE continuity and lossless event delivery have not yet been independently established.

Further physical R7/R10 qualification, reconnect/replay verification, event chronology, SCL/IID parity, SV wire-level interoperability, and broader device-specific testing remain ongoing.

Some diagnostic endpoints may represent local simulators rather than independent physical IEDs.

The bundled ARIEC61850 engine remains pinned to the tested integration revision documented in the release provenance and engines/ARIEC61850.lock.json. Its wider physical qualification remains separate from this Windows application release.

Stable describes the operator-accepted application release. It does not imply IEC 61850 conformance certification, universal device compatibility, or guaranteed lossless SOE.
