v1.1-beta.2 (build 3) — 2026-07-13

This beta polishes 1.1 with three fixes that came straight from your beta
feedback — thank you, and keep it coming.

Fixes

  • Files: entering an empty folder no longer leaves you stuck. VoiceOver focus
now lands on the folder header, so the "Parent folder" button is right there
    to go back up.
  • Storage: opening the Storage screen no longer announces a false "can't reach
the NAS" error while your storage details load normally.
  • Files: moving items is easier to find. The action is now called
"Move (cut)", and once you have cut an item, the app reminds you to paste it
at the destination to complete the move.

Every screen keeps the VoiceOver-first approach: clear labels, a logical focus
order, and spoken announcements on load, on error, and after each action.

Requirements

  • macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
  • A Synology NAS running DSM 7 on your local network.

v1.1-beta.1 (build 2) — 2026-07-13

This is a beta release — a preview of what's coming in 1.1. It builds on 1.0
with three new areas for managing your NAS. Feedback is welcome.

New: Shared Folders

  • See all your shared folders, with the volume each one lives on.
  • Create a new shared folder, choosing its volume.
  • Delete a shared folder — behind a deliberate confirmation, since this erases its contents.

New: File Services

  • Turn the file-sharing protocols on or off: SMB, NFS, FTP and rsync.
  • Disabling a service asks you to confirm first, and explains what it will interrupt.

New: Package Center

  • See every installed package, its version, and whether it is running.
  • Spot which packages have an update available.
  • Start or stop a package.
  • Uninstall a package, with an honest heads-up about what is — and isn't — removed.
  • Settings: choose the automatic-update policy, show or hide beta packages, and
turn update notifications on or off.

Every screen keeps the VoiceOver-first approach of 1.0: clear labels, a logical
focus order, and spoken announcements on load, on error, and after each action.

Requirements

  • macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
  • A Synology NAS running DSM 7 on your local network.

DSM Access 1.0

@math65 math65 released this 10 Jul 10:12

v1.0 (build 1) — 2026-07-10

DSM Access is a native, fully VoiceOver-accessible macOS app for administering a
Synology NAS — built to replace the DSM web interface, which is painful to use
with a screen reader. This is the first public release.

What you can do

  • Sign in, and stay signed in. Connect to your NAS with your account. An
optional "stay signed in" reconnects automatically the next time you launch —
    no retyping your password.
  • Browse and manage your files. A full File Station: move through shared
folders and their subfolders, download files (a folder comes down as a ZIP),
create, rename and delete, upload files, copy and move (Finder-style
clipboard), and create or revoke public share links (with an optional password
    and expiry date).
  • Check system info. Your NAS model, DSM version, uptime and more, at a glance.
  • Keep an eye on storage. Volumes and disks with their health, temperature
and capacity, plus storage pools/RAID, inode usage and bad-sector counts.
  • Watch live resource usage. Real-time CPU, memory and network activity.
  • Automatic updates. DSM Access checks for new versions on its own and
installs them, so you always run the latest build.

Every screen is built for VoiceOver first: clear labels, a logical focus order,
and spoken announcements when something loads or fails.

Requirements

  • macOS 26.5 or later.
  • A Synology NAS running DSM 7 on your local network.
