KeeperFX VR - test build 7
Pre-releasePlay Dungeon Keeper in VR: the dungeon becomes a tabletop in front of you, your hand is the Keeper's hand, and you can possess creatures and walk around at life size.
Unofficial fan-made test build, not a KeeperFX release. Please report problems in Issues.
New in test build 7
- Fixed: possessing a chicken froze the game. Chickens can be possessed now, with a chicken's-eye view; right A leaves.
- Fixed: after pausing (for example with a creature in your hand) the game could not be resumed. The pause button (left Y, or left B on Index) now always pauses and resumes.
- Choose when to leave a finished level: after winning or losing, the dungeon stays so you can look around. Tap the pulsing green arrow by your left hand to move on.
If you have test build 6, the launcher tells you about this update.
Test build 5 added the new Keeper's hand. Recent builds also added the right B laser toggle and the launcher window (KeeperFX VR.exe).
Quick start
You need a Windows PC, a PC VR headset, and your own copy of Dungeon Keeper.
- Install KeeperFX from keeperfx.net and check it starts.
- Update it to the latest alpha patch (keeperfx.net → Downloads → Alpha): unzip it into your KeeperFX folder and replace files.
- Download
KeeperFX-VR-….zipbelow and unzip it into the same KeeperFX folder (over an older test build is fine). - Get your headset ready: connect Virtual Desktop or Quest Link, or start SteamVR.
- Double-click
KeeperFX VR.exein your KeeperFX folder, then press Play in VR.
First time only: if Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway (this test build is not signed).
Controls and troubleshooting are in README-VR.txt inside the zip.
Works with
- Virtual Desktop (Quest): tested
- SteamVR (Valve Index and other SteamVR headsets): tested
- Meta Quest Link / Air Link: should work, not tested yet
