New Skills in Existing Skill Groups

  • MATLAB Core — matlab-run-tests for running MATLAB® test suites, collecting code coverage, and configuring CI/CD pipelines; matlab-write-tests for generating and structuring MATLAB unit tests using class-based testing frameworks.
  • AI and Statistics — matlab-analyze-reliability for fitting life distributions and accelerated life models for reliability analysis.
  • Computational Finance — matlab-optimize-portfolio for formulating and solving mean-variance portfolio optimization problems; matlab-price-instrument for pricing financial instruments using Monte Carlo, FFT, or interest-rate trees.
  • Radar — matlab-design-radar for designing, configuring, and analyzing radar systems in the Radar Designer app.

Improved Skills

  • matlab-access-datafeed — Added support for retrieving LSEG® Datastream historical data through the datastreamws interface.
  • matlab-analyze-data — Restructures skill guidance into a router-style format with expanded reference files, improving agent reference-read rates and adding cross-references to related skills.
  • matlab-build-app — Added background-task and timer patterns, Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) background-task guidance, and standalone HTML chart and bridge asset templates.

Compatibility Considerations

  • matlab-write-test has been split into two skills: matlab-write-tests for authoring unit tests, and matlab-run-tests for running test suites and collecting coverage. If you installed matlab-write-test, re-run the installer to switch to the new skills. See Update MATLAB Agentic Toolkit.

Other Changes

  • Release tags no longer use the date-based YYYY.MM.DD format. Tags now follow the format MATK-YYYY.MM.x, for example, MATK-2026.09.a.
