SATK v2026.09.b
Quick Start
Fresh Install
- Download
agenticToolkitInstaller.mltbxfrom the release assets - In MATLAB, double-click the
.mltbxto install, then run:
>> setupAgenticToolkit("install")
- Each MATLAB session, initialize the toolkit:
>> addpath("~/.matlab/agentic-toolkits/simulink")
>> satk_initialize
Update Existing Installation
- Download
agenticToolkitInstaller.mltbxfrom the release assets - Double-click the
.mltbxto update installer files, then run:
>> setupAgenticToolkit("update")
- Each session, initialize with the same
addpathandsatk_initializecommands as above.
What's New
-
fix-sldv-incompatibility skill — New skill that diagnoses why a Simulink model is incompatible with Simulink Design Verifier and applies the matching fix so the model can be analyzed. Requires Simulink Design Verifier.
-
model_scantool — New MCP tool for fast search of Simulink model files on disk. Locates blocks, parameters, and strings within a.slxfile by pattern.
Improved Skills and Tools
-
Better error messages when a model is not found —
model_editnow returns specific guidance for each failure case (model not yet created, model not on the MATLAB path, model open but unsaved) instead of a single generic message, so the agent can recover on its own. -
Improved documentation — Updated Windows path examples, troubleshooting steps, migration guide, and citation information.
Bug Fixes
-
model_editnow adds the correct Simulink block when requested by display name — Previously, if another installed toolbox provided a block with the same display name, that toolbox's copy was used instead, which could silently change the block's default parameters and computed output.model_editnow resolves display-name requests to the Simulink library block. (#68) -
model_editnow adds a Discrete FIR Filter (not a Discrete Filter) when the block is requested by name — Previously, requesting a "Discrete FIR Filter" silently created a "Discrete Filter", which is a different block with feedback (IIR) behavior. (#71) -
model_editcreate_subsystemnow accepts an integer port-count interface — Previously, passing{"inputs": 2, "outputs": 1}threw an internal error and left a malformed subsystem in the model. (#70) -
model_readnow reports the configured operation for Sqrt, Product, and Sum blocks — Previously, a Sqrt block set to reciprocal square root was shown as a plain square root, and Product/Sum blocks set to collapse a vector input were shown as pass-throughs. (#69) -
model_readno longer returns empty results for subsystems with many blocks — Previously, reading a subsystem with a very large number of blocks could return an empty result with no block content. -
Reinstalling the toolkit over a running MATLAB session no longer breaks tool access — Previously, running
setupAgenticToolkit("install")while a MATLAB session was already initialized could silently break all toolkit tools until MATLAB was restarted. -
model_editnow correctly handles models containing Variant Subsystems — Previously, inactive Variant Subsystem children could be silently skipped during editing operations, potentially causing block omissions or build failures. -
DisableTelemetryis now preserved across configure calls — Previously, runningsetupAgenticToolkit("configure")without re-passingDisableTelemetry=truewould silently re-enable data collection. To explicitly re-enable it after disabling, passDisableTelemetry=false.
