@matpet matpet released this 14 Apr 15:43

RC4 restores functional external FSK RTTY transmit behavior.

Highlights:

  • Restored external FSK transmit timing and queue-drain handling for RTTY.
  • Aligned ext-FSK character and keying behavior with the AFSK path, including 45.45 baud normalization and CR/LF handling.
  • Included related Wideband and Dual RTTY UI/runtime corrections.
  • Updated user-visible version strings so the app, About/menu labels, and update-check text consistently show 2.1rc4.

cocoaModem 2.1rc2

Release candidate 2 focuses on operating stability across transmit-capable modes and closes several issues found during live radio testing.

Highlights

  • Fixes external FSK serial lifecycle handling so repeated transmit cycles no longer fall into the PTT-without-FSK state.
  • Adds external CW serial keying support in Wideband CW, including queued real-time key timing for higher-speed sending.
  • Fixes Wideband CW startup activation restore and prevents macro sends from truncating the final CW character.
  • Adds decoded-text double-click capture into the main QSO workflow for transmit-capable modes, with receive-only modes excluded.
  • Improves contest and macro workflows, including EA RTTY resources, macro persistence/import handling, and safer immediate transmit paths.
  • Adds transmit-state and PTT guard fixes across PSK, MFSK, Hellschreiber, RTTY, and related interfaces.

Validation

  • Final RC2 tree built successfully with xcodebuild before tagging and release publication.

@matpet matpet released this 04 Apr 23:50

cocoaModem 2.1rc1 is a release candidate focused on modern contest and station interoperability on current macOS systems.

Main additions:

  • External FSK keying for RTTY.
    cocoaModem now supports direct external FSK keying for RTTY transmit, allowing integration with hardware and serial/keying setups that expect native FSK control instead of audio-tone keying alone.

  • fldigi-compatible XML-RPC support for RumLogNG contest integration.
    cocoaModem now provides a lightweight fldigi-style XML-RPC interface on localhost port 7362 for RumLogNG interoperability, including receive text delivery, transmit text injection, and TX/RX state control.

Also included:

  • Updated visible app branding to 2.1rc1.
  • Minimum supported macOS version set to 15.0.
  • Release package built as a universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel.
