The error in the Synapse CI originates from gotestfmt (which is unmaintained since 2023).

The cryptic error is referring to the fact that there is no Package field in one of the JSON objects represented log lines from each test. The offending line is here:

For build-output entries, go test -json does not provide a Package field; it only emits ImportPath.

gotestfmt should be modified to handle these cases and print the error, instead of swallowing it and printing something cryptic.

I've fixed the issue in 3bc2b81. Let's see if CI passes now.
