GT3 Revisited v0.3.0
GT3 Revisited 0.3.0 follows the original much more closely, from replays and race screens to lighting, AI and sound, and runs well on low-end Android phones.
As always, you need a disc image (.iso) made from your own copy of Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec.
Closer to GT3
- Replays: the original's camera modes, shot choice and opening shots; the automatic replay after each run
- Race HUD laid out per mode as in GT3; lap, split-time and gap pop-ups; the loading screen
- Records and name entry, course time trials, machine tests that end at GT3's marks
- Course lighting, lamp glows, shadows and car reflections as the original draws them
- Moving scenery, palette animations, mud flaps, aerials and the formula cars' steering
- Tires and wheel positions as GT3 builds them
- AI uses the original's per-course settings, pit lane and recovery
- Music levels, race playlist, Replay Theater music, per-wheel tire sounds, turbo blow-off
- GT Mode: the McLaren for winning every GT race, engine wear, the car wash; the Options music list works
Phones and tablets
- Dynamic resolution (Settings → Display), on by default on phones and tablets
- Galaxy A15 and other Mali phones: no 3D crash, no mid-race stutters, faster car select
- No more texture corruption on Adreno 6xx GPUs
- Touch: menu controls in race menus, the HUD stays in the corners, the GT3R menu button sits above the D-pad
- Phone vibration for touch and controllers without rumble (Settings → Controls)
Fixes
- GT Mode never overwrites a save it can't read
- ASM off in Options turns off the ASM lamp
- The keyboard preset with the keyboard turned off no longer locks out player 1
- Menu gradients the right way up; the England, Germany and Toyota dealer pages show their strips
- Limit to 60 fps (Settings → Display) on every platform
- Join with a code opens the code for editing, so a mistyped code is easy to fix
- VR: the sky is at its proper distance
Online
Online play requires 0.3.0. Older versions will offer the update.

GT3 Revisited v0.2.0
GT3 Revisited 0.2.0 brings the game to Meta Quest, and races now finish and time laps like the original.
As always, you need a disc image (.iso) made from your own copy of Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec.
Meta Quest (VR)
- Races in stereo from the driver's seat or the chase view, with the HUD in front of you
- Menus, movies and replays on a big virtual screen; point and click with the right controller
- 90 fps at full resolution on Quest 3
- Touch controllers work like a gamepad, or grab a virtual steering wheel (Settings → VR)
Verified on Quest 3; Quest 2, 3S and Pro are untested.
Racing
- Lapped cars finish when the leader does ("+1 lap"), as in GT3
- Race positions and lap times follow the original's rules; lap 1 is timed from the start
Fixes
- Tune shop popups close back to the part; engine parts show power before and after
- Cars Permitted lists the allowed cars
- Race results keep their times after watching the replay
- Hovering the mouse or VR pointer selects menu items, so one click chooses

GT3 Revisited v0.1.0
The first public release of GT3 Revisited: the Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec engine, reimplemented for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.
Bring your own disc. GT3 Revisited contains no game content and no original code. It plays from a disc image (.iso) you made from your own copy of the game, reading it directly at runtime. The NTSC-U releases (SCUS-97102 and the PBPX-95503 bundle disc) are verified; other regions are untested.
What's in it
- The whole game: GT Mode (dealers, garage, tuning, licences, championships, endurance races with pit stops, endings), Arcade (single race, time trial, free run, 2-player split screen), the Replay Theater and Analyzer, movies, music and sound, all from your disc.
- Faithful racing: physics, AI, cameras, HUD and lighting reimplemented from the original's behaviour and compared side by side with it.
- Online battle: the arcade's i.LINK Battle rebuilt for the internet and LANs: up to 6 players, session codes, no port forwarding.
- Quick race: any of the game's events with any car, nothing to unlock.
- Saves: any number of named saves; import from and export to the PS2 original.
- Modern display and controls: any resolution, widescreen, high refresh rates, or the original 640×448 look; keyboard, gamepads, wheels and touch, all remappable, with analog pressure buttons, DualSense adaptive triggers and force feedback.
- Mods: replace any game file, add music, or add new cars.
examples/mods/example_coupein the repository is a complete car mod to learn from (not installed by default).

First launch. The builds aren't signed with a developer certificate, so each system asks once:
- Windows: if SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC", choose More info → Run anyway.
- macOS: after the first launch is blocked, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.
- Android: allow installing from your browser or file manager when asked. In countries where Android requires verified developers for sideloaded apps, use the advanced install flow in Developer options, or
adb install.

Good to know
- Updates: at startup the game asks its server whether a newer version exists (one small message; turn it off under Settings → Online). When a new version is out it offers to download it, and online play needs the current version. Offline play is never blocked.
- Differences from the original: saves are files instead of memory-card slots; i.LINK Battle is online play and doesn't talk to real PS2s; wall contacts at corners and a few PS2-specific effects are approximated. Details are in the README.
- Known limits: no Intel Mac, Windows ARM or Linux ARM packages yet (you can build from source); only
.isodisc images are read.
