This release contains the modeled geographic ranges of 746 bryophyte species in California. The majority of these species are included in our analysis, though some were omitted due to lack of genetic sequence data. The species distribution models are a single tif file, sdm.tif, with a layer for each species, covering California at 810 m resolution.
Each raster layer contains continuous values ranging from 0 to 1 representing the estimated relative likelihood of occurrence in each grid cell. For each species, the modeled occurrence score is a function of climatic suitability based on a MaxEnt niche model, geographic distance to the nearest confirmed herbarium specimen location, and landscape intactness. See the paper for detailed methods. All data are model estimates.
