TOCflow 1.2.0 adds a study assistant for readers, plus the Reading Guide from 1.1.0. Every new feature is optional — turn it on in the block sidebar or the shortcode.

Study assistant

  • Reader note pads — a notes button on each section lets readers jot personal notes. Notes stay on their device. No account required. Turn on with Reader note pads in the sidebar, or rnotes="1" in the shortcode.
  • Reading progress bar — a thin bar shows how far through the post they’ve read. Turn on with rprogress="1".
  • Resume bookmark — remembers the last heading they reached and offers a Resume button on the next visit. Turn on with bookmark="1".
  • Section Planner — mark each heading Draft, In progress, or Done while you write, and add a short teaser readers can reveal.
  • Total read-time badge — when Reading Guide and read-time are on, the TOC header shows the total time for the whole post.

Reading Guide

  • Section previews — the opening of each section appears under its TOC link.
  • Content density bars — see at a glance which sections are short and which are long.
  • Read-time estimates — a ~N min badge on each section.
  • Reading progress — sections fade as the reader scrolls past them.
  • Author notes — write a teaser or hook per heading; readers tap to reveal it.
  • Emoji reactions — readers can react per section. Reactions stay on their device.
  • Academic citations — one tap copies APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, or a plain link for that section.
  • Hover preview — hovering or focusing a TOC link shows a short preview of the section.
