Lean VS Code v0.4.0 makes the signed Apple Silicon app quicker to reach an editable file while keeping editing, search, the integrated terminal, local Git review, and Open VSX extensions.
In 30 paired warm-cache GUI launches on an Apple M3 Max, v0.4.0 reached an editable file in 1.239 s median / 1.268 s p95, versus 1.310 s / 1.353 s for signed v0.3.2 in the same run. That is about 5% less median time and 6% less p95 time. The sub-second p95 goal remains open. No lower-memory claim is made for this release.
The app is signed and notarized. The DMG is for installation; the ZIP is the signed update payload. Both contain identical app files and symlink targets. Starting with v0.3.2, the installed app can check the GitHub stable feed for this release; v0.3.0 and the withdrawn v0.3.1 candidate require a manual install of v0.3.2 or newer once.
