v0.2.0 - Reliable photo exports

Latest

@matysanchez matysanchez released this 27 Sep 23:17

Highlights

  • photos download no longer fails on duplicate filenames. Each asset is exported into its own empty folder, then moved to <uuid>.<ext>. Assets sharing an original filename (e.g. IMG_6963.JPG from different years) used to fail with "file not found after export", even on retry. Output naming is unchanged.
  • Faster exports. Direct lookup by ID instead of a full-library scan, Photos.app no longer jumps to the front per item, several items per Photos.app session (--batch-size, default 10), and up to an hour per item for large iCloud downloads.
  • Live Photos: only the file matching the asset's filename is kept; the paired .MOV is no longer left in the output folder.

Also new since 0.1.0

  • Photos: search (person, date, type, favorites, GPS, keyword) and download
  • Messages: list-chats, search, stats, audit, export
  • Contacts, Notes, Reminders, Calendar: sync to a local SQLite cache with full-text search and analytics
  • Safari: history, top sites, bookmarks, reading list
  • Calls, iCloud Drive, Screen Time, Music, Podcasts, Mail: new command groups, all covered by doctor
