Maxon 0.2.1
What's new
Fixed
- The compiler occasionally crashed partway through a build with
Range check failed: value outside typealias 'AllocCount'. - A green thread that started reading a socket while another was finishing a read of the same socket
could wait forever, unreported by the deadlock detector. It now stops with the documented error for
two readers on one socket, every time. - On Windows, a socket receive or send that had already completed when its deadline passed or the
socket closed reported a timeout: the bytes received were lost, and a retried send went out twice.
Install
macOS and Linux
curl -fsSL https://maxon.dev/install.sh | sh
Windows
powershell -c "irm maxon.dev/install.ps1|iex"
Either script downloads the archive for your machine, checks it against SHA256SUMS, installs it
into ~/.maxon and puts maxon on your PATH; maxon upgrade updates the install later. With Homebrew,
brew install maxon-lang/tap/maxon. If you download an archive by hand on macOS, run
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ./maxon once.
⚠ Keep maxon, stdlib/ and runtime/ together. The compiler finds its standard library
and its runtime by walking up from its own executable, so moving the binary out on its own leaves
it unable to compile.
Verify a download
SHA256SUMS is published beside the archives. The archives themselves are not signed, so
the checksum is what tells you a file is the one that was built.
