In `module/nata_blk.c`, the `sim_tx_packet` function incorrectly used `memcpy()` to read from `skb->data` for the length of `skb->len`. `sk_buff` objects in the kernel network stack can be non-linear (fragmented), meaning `skb->data` does not point to the full buffer if `skb->len` spans across fragments. This causes an out-of-bounds memory read (and potential memory disclosure/kernel panic) when transferring large payloads over the simulated NATA bridge. This commit replaces `memcpy` with `skb_copy_bits`, which safely handles copying data from potentially non-linear `sk_buff` objects. This leads to out-of-bounds memory reads (potential kernel panic or sensitive data leak) when processing non-linear (fragmented)sk_buffpackets.π― Impact: An attacker could trigger a kernel panic (Denial of Service) or potentially disclose sensitive kernel memory contents across the bridge interface by sending large, fragmented network packets.
π§ Fix: Replaced
memcpywithskb_copy_bits, which correctly traverses thesk_bufffragment list and safely copies all packet data, regardless of linearity. If the copy fails, it safely aborts and returns-EFAULT.β Verification: Code statically verified. Tests require a non-sandbox environment with kernel headers, but the change structurally eliminates the out-of-bounds read risk.
