EPTHenOpt v0.2.2: Initial Public Release
This is the initial public release of EPTHenOpt, a Python package for Heat Exchanger Network (HEN) synthesis and optimization.
This version introduces a complete code refactoring from a standalone script into a modular and installable Python package. The goal of this release is to provide a stable, well-documented, and easy-to-use foundation for academic, research, and industrial applications in process engineering.
✨ Key Features in this Release:
- Packaged Codebase: The entire project has been structured as a proper Python package, improving modularity, maintainability, and ease of use.
- Dual Metaheuristic Solvers: Includes robust implementations of both Genetic Algorithm (
GA) and Teaching-Learning-Based Optimization (TLBO) for HEN synthesis. - Parallel Processing: Features a built-in parallel processing core using an island-model migration strategy to accelerate optimization.
- Flexible Problem Definition: Allows users to define complex HEN problems easily via CSV files for streams, utilities, and match-specific constraints.
- Comprehensive Documentation:
- A detailed
README.mdhas been added with instructions for installation and usage. - The project is now licensed under the MIT License.
