DTLS handshake always times out.

LocalThings successfully connects to all of my other Samsung appliances:
Washing Machine
Dryer
Dishwasher
Water Purifier
Only the air conditioner(wifi kit) fails.

You could try the instructions and script from #13, but we haven't had much luck in other issues with this. Have you checked TCP port 8888? It could be an older model that doesn't use CoAP/DTLS.

From what I understand, this isn't an older model. Model AIM-H04N (Wi-Fi Kit 2.0) is equivalent to MIM-H04EN, and it uses the Samsung NASA Protocol.

I checked TCP port 8888, but it appears to be closed/unreachable (connection failed).
I'll try the script from #13 next to see if that helps!

I ran a port scan, but I haven't found any open TCP ports so far.

So, that is the beauty of this integration and solutions, the devices are communicating on UDP port.

It worth to try to do a scan just after the device turned on or if it has a remote control option, when that is turned on. Some devices used to close their ports after 5 minutes being turned on, unless something communicated with them.

Just got my washer and dryer working, but not my Wi-Fi-kit for the heatpump got this error:
The ports within the local API's range are reachable at that address, but nothing there answered a DTLS handshake.

You could check the ports / process notes in QuiteYellow/SmartThings-Local#16. If that doesn’t work, there isn’t much we can do here. Closing this for now.
