v0.4.1 - TranslucentTB integration polish
What's new
- Auto-detect TranslucentTB. RoundedTB now polls for TranslucentTB about once a second and only fires the integration redraw message when TTB is actually running. Install or quit TTB while RoundedTB is up — it just works, no checkbox toggling. (#8)
- Live status indicator in settings. Below the (renamed) "TranslucentTB integration (auto-detected)" checkbox, the panel now shows "TranslucentTB: detected ✓" or a Microsoft Store hyperlink when it isn't. The status updates within a couple of seconds of TTB starting or stopping. (#9, #10)
- About → "Adding blur or acrylic" expander. Explains the Win11-vs-Win10 reality: blur and acrylic on the modern Win11 taskbar require TTB's XAML-level injection, which RoundedTB cannot replicate on its own. (#9)
- AboutWindow "What's new" refreshed for the v0.4.0 line. No longer talks about the old .NET 10 port or warns users to disable autohide in Windows. (#7)
Migration
Nothing to do. The TranslucentTB integration checkbox keeps your existing setting; if you had it on, it now only fires when TTB is running, so the old "may cause flickering" footnote is no longer a concern when TTB isn't installed.

v0.4.0 - Independent autohide per segment
What's new
- Independent autohide per dynamic-mode segment — each of AppList / Tray / Widgets / SecondaryClock now has its own Auto-hide setting (Always show / Always hide / Show on desktop). Segments sharing the same value form a hover group: they reveal and hide together; differing values are independent. (#3)
Migration
Existing configs with the previous single Auto-hide setting are auto-migrated into per-segment values on first launch — no action needed.
CI
- All GitHub Actions bumped to current major versions. (#4)

v0.3.1 - Live slider/input sync
Fixes
- Slider / textbox now update live. Corner radius, hover-reveal delay, and hide delay inputs used to only push their value into the slider when focus left the textbox — typing a number looked like a dead control until you tabbed away. Each pair now mirrors the other on every keystroke, with a reentry guard breaking the feedback loop. LostFocus still runs to clamp out-of-range values.
- CI auto-attach works on the next release. The v0.3 MSIX workflow built the bundle fine but couldn't attach it to the release (GitHub's default
GITHUB_TOKENon release-triggered workflows is read-only).permissions: contents: writeis now declared on the workflow, so publishing v0.3.1 should land all four assets without manual intervention.

v0.3 - Hide-delay slider + MSIX pipeline
New feature
- Autohide hide-delay slider. A second slider on the config panel, symmetric to the hover-reveal delay, lets the taskbar stay visible for up to 2000 ms after the mouse leaves. Re-entering the region within the window resets the counter, so brief sweeps away and back no longer trigger a flicker. Defaults to 0 (instant hide, matches v0.2 behavior).
Stability
- Autohide now recovers when Explorer strips
WS_EX_LAYEREDfrom the taskbar (a Win11 quirk that silently broke hide/reveal until the next taskbar restart). - A second
RoundedTB.exelaunch now surfaces a visible warning and exits instead of racing the original instance. - Unhandled and previously-swallowed exceptions route through Serilog at
%LocalAppData%\RoundedTB\logs\log-YYYYMMDD.txtso bug reports can include real stack traces.
Packaging and distribution
- New MSIX release pipeline. Publishing a GitHub release now triggers a signed
.msixbundle+RoundedTB.cer+INSTALL.txtto be built and attached automatically via Actions. Package version bumped to 2.0.3.0 so Windows accepts the upgrade from a v0.2 install. - Three build variants with distinct icons: Debug (Dev), plain Release (Canary), and
-p:RTB_RELEASE=true(signed Release). Outputs are segregated underbin\Release-RTB\so a single checkout can hold all three at once. - Dropped the dead .NET 6 migration shims and the duplicate
RoundedTB.icoContent entry that crashed the signed Release variant on startup.

v0.2 - .NET 10 + Fluent theme
Upgrade
This release migrates RoundedTB to .NET 10 LTS and replaces the legacy WPF-UI 1.2.1 controls with the built-in WPF Fluent theme that shipped with .NET 9/10.
Changes
- Target framework: .NET 6 → .NET 10 (LTS, supported through Nov 2028).
- CVE fix:
Microsoft.Windows.Compatibility7.0.0 → 10.0.0 (resolves a transitive dependency advisory). - Tray icon:
Hardcodet.NotifyIcon.Wpf1.1.0 → 2.0.1. - UI theming: removed WPF-UI 1.2.1; the window now uses the built-in Fluent dark theme (
ThemeMode="Dark"), which also applies the Mica backdrop automatically. - Layout: adjusted widths, font sizes, and slider/checkbox positions so the Fluent theme's slightly larger default metrics no longer truncate text or overlap controls.
Notes
Requires .NET 10 Desktop Runtime (x64). If you don't have it yet: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet/10.0
Carries forward the push-up fix from v0.1.1.
v0.1.1 - Push-up fix
Fixes
- Windows no longer get pushed up when RoundedTB launches or toggles Auto-hide. Previously, AutoHide called
SPI_SETWORKAREAto expand the work area; Windows reverted it within a second because the taskbar's AppBar state isAlwaysOnTop(notABS_AUTOHIDE), and the revert'sWM_SETTINGCHANGEbroadcast snapped any window extending past the taskbar upward. Show-on-desktop / Always-hide still work for windowed apps.
Notes
Requires .NET 6 Desktop Runtime (x64).
