Responsive Android layout patch release.
What changed
This patch addresses the reported unnecessary horizontal panning on Android phones:
- Constrained html, body, and the root application container to the available viewport width.
- Removed the body-level minimum width that could force content wider than the phone screen.
- Constrained the application shell, main content, and page content within the flex layout.
- Separated vertical scrolling from horizontal overflow handling.
- Wrapped the reader toolbar and reader tools on narrow screens.
- Replaced fixed-width Bible reference controls with a responsive mobile grid.
- Allowed Bible selectors to shrink to the available width and clip long labels without expanding the page.
- Allowed verse text and narrow content areas to wrap safely.
- Kept the same Android and Windows feature set from v0.2.0, including the privacy PIN, local data deletion, offline Bible database, bookmarks, notes, highlights, Journey, Learn search, Saved items, themes, branding, and GitHub update checks.
- Bumped Android version code to 3 and kept the application version at 0.2.1.

The Android APK is debug-signed. Because debug certificates are not a stable production signing identity, Android may reject an in-place update from another debug APK signed with a different certificate. In that case a fresh install requires uninstalling the existing package, which removes its local app data.

- The tagged GitHub Actions build completed successfully.
- The public release is non-draft and non-prerelease.
- The Android APK was checked against the published GitHub release asset.
- Website rendering tests passed 39/39 after the website was updated to the v0.2.1 release.

Remaining boundaries
This patch is a layout correction, not a claim of complete visual QA on every Android screen or device. Production Android signing, a final distribution channel, full device interaction testing, content licensing, attribution review, and privacy hardening remain open.

Privacy-focused local access release.
What changed
This release adds the first explicit private-access controls for people who may need to keep their study activity discreet on a shared or sensitive device:
- Added an optional local PIN lock from Settings.
- Added PIN creation and confirmation with 4-to-8 digit validation.
- Added per-install salt and Web Crypto PBKDF2 verification for the locally stored PIN verifier.
- Added a lock screen shown after launch when the privacy lock is enabled.
- Added automatic locking after five minutes without pointer, touch, or keyboard activity.
- Added a manual Lock now action.
- Added unlock feedback for missing, incorrect, or successfully verified PIN entry.
- Added a Remove PIN control.
- Added a Delete local data control with confirmation.
- The local-data deletion action removes bookmarks, highlights, private notes, Journey progress, reader preferences, saved Bible location, and PIN state.
- The read-only bundled content database is intentionally not deleted by the private-data control.
- Added explicit privacy notices explaining what the local PIN can and cannot protect.
- Updated Settings to show the local-only privacy, content-database, and prototype boundaries.
- Preserved the 66-book offline Bible, chapter navigation, local study tools, Learn search, Saved items, Journey progress, light/dark themes, branding, Android shell, and GitHub update paths.
- Bumped the desktop and Android version to 0.2.0, including Android version code 2.
Privacy boundary
The PIN is an access gate, not encryption. It can reduce casual access to the application and locally saved study state, but it cannot guarantee privacy against someone with device access, the device PIN, operating-system storage access, backups, screenshots, application inspection, or a compromised device.
The application continues to have no account, backend, analytics, synchronization, or remote content service. Content licensing and attribution review remain open release gates.

The Android APK is debug-signed. A production signing key and final Android distribution channel have not yet been established.

This release expands the Bible experience from the John 1 sample to the complete structured corpus currently available to the prototype:

Offline behavior
The Bible content is bundled in the SQLite database and loaded chapter-by-chapter without requiring an account or network connection. The raw Data directory remains a local conversion input and is not embedded wholesale in the renderer.

This release establishes broad offline Bible coverage, but it does not claim production Android signing, store publication, encrypted local storage, or completed licensing review. Translation comparison and additional study sources remain future work.

This release moves the runtime content boundary from a large renderer-bundled JSON catalog to a versioned SQLite database:
- Replaced the generated source catalog JSON with public/data/from-darkness-to-light.db.
- Added a repeatable SQLite build pipeline driven by npm run build:data.
- Added database metadata describing the database version, application content version, source root, asset count, asset bytes, and Bible sample.
- Added source_groups for grouped asset counts and byte totals.

Content included
At this release point the generated database catalogs the local Data assets and carries the structured John 1 KJV sample. It is runtime metadata/content, not a copy of the raw DOCX, lexicon, Hebrew, Greek, Text-Fabric, archive, or other research source files.
