emucap 0.17.1
This patch release adds drive-A disk insertion and ejection to managed openMSX disk sessions through change_media.
Disk changes
- Insert and eject at a verified frozen boundary without advancing the guest. Imported images are copied into the managed generation; optional SHA-1 preconditions apply to the imported bytes.
- Before replacement or state restoration, export the outgoing disk including buffered guest writes. Responses return the recovery image so callers can reinsert it. Copy recovery images outside the managed generation before stopping it if they must survive shutdown.
- Reject empty-drive saves before serialization. Existing snapshots can restore from an empty drive.
- Verify native mount and execution state after a change. An uncertain native outcome ends the control channel and preserves recovery evidence instead of claiming success.
Updating
Install the matching core package and rebuild the openMSX bridge using adapters/openmsx/README.md. Reconnect the MCP servers and start a new managed generation. The maintained openMSX native host remains API 5; this update does not change that host requirement.
Validation
- 1,485 Rust tests passed; two opt-in tests were excluded. All-target Clippy and build guards passed.
- macOS native openMSX checks exercised insertion, ejection, guest disk writes, recovery-image reinsertion, snapshot restoration, and rejection/error paths. Madou Monogatari 2 completed an in-game data-disk save and load with selected restored RAM values checked. These bounded checks do not establish whole-game compatibility.
- Core packages are built and checked natively on Windows x86-64, Linux x86-64, and Apple Silicon. CI verifies extracted-package registration, CLI startup, MCP initialization and tool discovery, and the exact Control build revision. These checks do not qualify emulator adapters on every OS.
Packages
Each platform archive includes the four core executables (emucap, emucap-mcp, emucap-track-mcp, emucap-broker), public source, adapter sources and launch scripts. Follow PREBUILT-CORE.md after extracting the complete archive. Adapter bridges and emulator hosts are built separately.
Verify the archive with SHA256SUMS; the companion JSON records contain binary hashes and validation results. Windows requires the Visual C++ x64 Redistributable. Firmware, game media and emulator binaries are not included.
