Union 0.3.1 packages the refined Files, browser, mail and photos framework, Chinese Medium 500 emphasis, and a translucent Dock with small dark running indicators.

Download the complete ISO from Cloudflare R2:

sha256sum --check Aven-Union-0.3.1-SHA256SUMS

Expected ISO SHA-256: 59d81e2afb1c7241c274f961ae83cb13dd54d77a15459b266c87c1f458ef23eb.

Write the image to a USB drive of at least 16 GB or attach it as a virtual optical drive. This is an interactive installer, not a live desktop. It installs offline and uses Fedora's native first-user setup. No laboratory credentials or automatic disk erasure are included.

The complete public download was verified against the local ISO with SHA-256.

BIOS/UEFI optical boots, a fresh offline Chinese graphical installation, automatic first-login defaults and a second disk-only UEFI boot were verified. Independent audits pass all 186 embedded file checks, 68 font checks and 103 package-cache refs. The Fedora Kinoite 44.20260913.0 base and update origin are retained. Runtime source is frozen at 3cea3e1; later commits contain website, documentation and external verification.

This is an experimental Plasma 6.8 Beta prototype. Local Beta overrides are pinned; future upgrades need compatibility verification. No upgrade or rollback transaction was exercised in this release round. Current Union visual scores remain pending and do not inherit the older Breeze scores. Native breadcrumb weight, app-specific controls and some initial-window layout details still differ from the reference.

The build manifest retains boot_install_verified: false as its immutable build-time state. Completed runtime verification is recorded in the linked release report and evidence.

Aven — Kinoite 44 update channel

Aven 0.4.0 — install and update without rebuilding an ISO

Aven now has a separate, signed component update channel for Fedora Kinoite 44
x86_64. Install it on an existing Kinoite system, or adopt an existing Aven ISO
installation. Later changes use aven update and download only changed component
archives. Fedora system deployment, security updates and rollback remain under
rpm-ostree.

Download Aven-Installer.tar.gz and check it against SHA256SUMS. Extract it and
run from Konsole as the desktop user, with the focused applications closed:

tar -xzf Aven-Installer.tar.gz
python3 aven-installer/aven.py install

If the installer stages system dependencies, reboot and run
~/.local/bin/aven update to finish. Later use aven check or aven update.

Ordinary updates retain user preferences, panel arrangement, pinned applications,
mail accounts, bookmarks and personal files. An explicit
aven update --reset-defaults reapplies the current defaults/layout.
aven recover handles an interrupted application; aven rollback restores the
previous Aven profile release. Log out of Plasma before either restore operation.

This is an experimental Union release with the existing Plasma 6.8 Beta
dependency. The initial platform setup can require roughly 440 MB of RPMs plus
any missing Fedora applications/fonts. Those packages are mirrored as immutable
objects in this channel; theme-only updates do not redownload them.

The updater has been exercised on a disposable clone of the official booted
Kinoite baseline, including dependency staging/reboot, initial profile install,
successive component updates, configuration/data preservation, failure recovery
and profile rollback. A theme-only test update transferred 20,749 bytes. This is
a delivery test, not a new visual score or a claim that every future update will
have that size. Union's visual scores remain pending.

The fixed channel tag is a prerelease. It does not supersede the offline ISO as
GitHub's latest release. Keep the installed signing key; future releases are
verified against it. See docs/ONLINE-UPDATES.md in the source repository for
the maintainer build/publish commands and supported application versions.

Aven 0.1.0 — Fedora Atomic KDE 44 prototype ISO

Aven 0.1.0 prototype ISO

A focused Fedora Atomic KDE desktop prototype: Dolphin Files and quick preview, Firefox, Thunderbird, Gwenview, and a Noto Sans foundation for Latin, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

Download the installer

Download these assets from this release into one directory:

  • All four Aven-Atomic-KDE-44-0.1.0-prototype-x86_64.iso.part-000 through .part-003 files
  • ISO-PARTS.json
  • reassemble-iso.py

Run with Python 3:

python3 reassemble-iso.py

On Windows, use py -3 reassemble-iso.py. The helper verifies every part and the complete ISO before publishing its output. Use a normal filesystem with hard-link support; FAT/exFAT cannot run that publication step. The individual parts are not bootable.

Result: Aven-Atomic-KDE-44-0.1.0-prototype-x86_64.iso — 7,890,075,648 bytes.

SHA-256: ae91559362ecfb87fa4f630882a78c41f699540d0ffda25ccea66c7be00e34e0

Write the reconstructed ISO to a USB drive of at least 16 GB. This is an offline Anaconda installer, not a live desktop. Disk selection and first-user creation use Fedora's native interfaces. There is no preset account, password, automatic disk erasure or laboratory SSH access.

Installation and reconstruction guide

What is included

  • Aven surfaces, window decoration, restrained motion and focused Dolphin defaults.
  • Quick previews for images, PDF, text and common media; select a file and press Ctrl+Alt+P. Escape closes it; Enter opens the file in its configured application.
  • Mature browser, mail and photo applications, integrated through fonts, chrome and defaults.
  • Fedora 44.20260913.0 with its signed base, Fedora update origin, Atomic deployments and five persistent package requests. The local application layer is separately built and is not Fedora-signed.

ISO source commit: 9500b72a79320ce062a8b7360eac5806b142c93a. The attached JSON manifest records all 150 embedded source files. Later repository commits contain verification evidence and release documentation.

Verification

The exact ISO passed BIOS and UEFI optical boots, offline installation to a fresh disk, native first-user creation, automatic Aven first-login defaults and a second disk-only boot. Independent checks confirm the signed Fedora base/update origin, read-only Atomic root, SELinux, all 150 source files, 42 active font checks and 12 default associations.

Native smoke checks cover Files copy/rename/move/trash; image/PDF/SC/TC text/media preview; three Enter/Open handoffs; real Chinese HTTPS browsing, download and native file picker; local Chinese mail draft editing/save/reopen; and photo navigation/fullscreen. No real mail was sent.

The independent installed-ISO 1× visual review passes: 8.27 overall, 8.5 Chinese typography, with a yes on the three-second comparison. Two nonblocking details remain: initial Files rows are denser than after visiting grid, and a taller photo filmstrip reduces the main image area. The current full fractional-scale and motion matrix was not rerun; the round-4 matrix remains historical evidence.

This is a prerelease for evaluation. Physical hardware, Secure Boot and live rollback were not tested. The prototype preserves Fedora updates but has no separate Aven update channel. The aven-source-and-evidence-round04.tar.gz asset is the historical round-4 evidence bundle; current source is available through this release's Git tag.
