Bongo 1.0

The first public release of Bongo, a native Bangla keyboard for Apple Silicon macOS.

Bongo lets you type Bangla directly inside your applications using phonetic input, suggestions and familiar keyboard layouts. Typing preferences and learned word choices remain on your device.

installation

Requirements: macOS 13 or later and an Apple Silicon Mac.

1. Download Bongo-1.0-macos-arm64.dmg.
2. Open the downloaded DMG.
3. Drag Bongo.app onto the Input Methods shortcut.
4. Log out of macOS and log back in.
5. Open System Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources → Edit.
6. Click + and add Bongo.
7. Switch keyboards using the Globe key or Control–Space.

If Bongo does not appear immediately, close and reopen Keyboard settings after logging back in.
