Subscription secrets are obtained from [Mendix support](https://support.mendix.com/). You can use subscription secrets in [standalone mode](/developerportal/deploy/private-cloud-technical-appendix-02/).

For Operator version 2.24.0 and newer, we have introduced a new field, **Enable Fallback License**, in the **Environment Details** section. When enabled, this option allows Connected environments using subscription secrets to use a fallback license if communication with the licensing server fails, preventing the system from switching to Trial mode.

We have also released an alternate way of licensing your apps in Mendix on Kubernetes by using PCLM. For more information, see [Private Cloud License Manager](/developerportal/deploy/private-cloud/private-cloud-license-manager/).

For users of the Private Cloud License Manager who wish to set the product type for the Runtime license in a particular environment, it can be done by editing the Product type. This ensures that the associated environment obtains the license from the license bundle with the specified Product type. By default, the value is set to the one defined in the Namespace configuration page.

#### Portal Hotfix

* We have fixed an issue where, in Operator versions older than 2.24.0, runtime licenses were being converted to trial licenses. This hotfix resolves the problem and introduces a new field, **Enable Fallback License**, in the **Environment Details** section. When enabled, this option allows Connected environments using subscription secrets to use a fallback license if communication with the licensing server fails, preventing the system from switching to Trial mode. This option should only be enabled if your Operator version is 2.24.0 and above.

Under these conditions, you can expect no downtime during the update process, as long as the application is using the same MDA and base OS image.

* Exporting **Scheduled events**, **Application details**, **PCLM Statistics** is now possible in CSV format, replacing the XLSX format.
* We have incorporated the use of fallback license for Connected environments using Subscription Secrets. If an environment fails to communicate with the licensing server, it will use the fallback license instead of switching into Trial mode. This option is enabled by default.
