What's new
Mercury now installs as a plugin for Claude Code and for Codex. One install adds the Mercury server and the Using Mercury skill together, so both are ready in a new session. Before this, connecting meant adding several servers by hand and keeping them in step.
The plugin points at a single Mercury address and holds no key. Your client runs the sign-in with your Mercury account and keeps the session, so there is nothing to copy or store. The plugin is a convenience: any client that supports OAuth can still connect with the address alone, and Claude Desktop and claude.ai use a custom connector with the Mercury address. A downloadable skill for those clients is coming (*).
Two things are worth knowing. The Codex plugin carries the address only, so you sign in from Codex once after installing. And the older installer and desktop bundle are retired; if you set up the four separate servers earlier, remove them once the plugin is installed. See Mercury plugins for each client, and Connect a client for the general steps.
(*) This feature is coming and is not available yet.
How to get it
Claude Code, first install: /plugin marketplace add mercuryintelligence/mercury then /plugin install mercury@mercury.
Already installed, update: claude plugin marketplace update mercury then claude plugin update mercury@mercury.
Codex: codex plugin marketplace add mercuryintelligence/mercury, codex plugin add mercury@mercury, then codex mcp login mercury.
Claude Desktop and claude.ai: add a custom connector with the Mercury address; the skill for these clients is coming.
If you set up the older four separate Mercury servers earlier, remove them; the single mercury server replaces them.
