More signal, less twitch

This patch makes the terminal Sessions command centre easier to read and interact with.

Highlights

  • Know what each session is using. The root session's latest recorded model, reasoning effort and Fast setting now appear directly below tokens—for example, gpt-6-astra medium fast. Child agents cannot replace the root's settings. These are observed selections, not proof of the backend-resolved model or delivered speed; missing fields are omitted.
  • Less duplicated telemetry. Removed repeated directories/status text, generic ROOT labels, redundant file-activity age and wholly unavailable latency/output statistics. Useful agent counts, call activity, latency/output readings and quota-share estimates remain below the model line.
  • Steadier averages. Total and per-session AVG TOK/MIN values refresh together every five seconds, not on every mouse movement or keypress. Start/reset/pause/resume refresh immediately. This remains an average since measurement began, excluding paused time—not instantaneous generation speed. Labels are translated across all 17 supported locales.
  • Breathing room when it fits. The attention strip gains a blank row above and below only when each overview session retains at least 11 rows after padding. Full detail uses a separate threshold of 33 remaining detail-panel rows, while protecting composer controls and text space.
  • An easier target for typing. Click anywhere across the bottom three rows of a full-detail panel to focus an available composer. Footer and approval controls retain their behaviour; clicking does not send text or enable unsupported prompts.
  • Reliable settings after rollout truncation. Recovery now clears and reloads model, effort and service-tier state, including pricing cursor state, so replaced/truncated data cannot leave the old settings cached through that recovery path.

Upgrade

Linux/macOS/WSL release installer:

Ensure $HOME/.local/bin is on PATH, or use your existing installation directory with --bin-dir to avoid an older binary taking precedence. Restart and check codexometer --version.
