WorkBuro 1.0.19
What is new
Your own phone, as a second screen for the app.
WorkBuro can now serve itself to anything on your network. Switch it on in Settings → Server, open
the address it prints on your phone, and enter the six-digit code — no key is typed, and the code
expires in five minutes and works once. Your conversations are the same list in both places: start
a chat at the desk, carry on from the sofa, and an agent turn sent from the phone runs on the
computer. Your provider keys never leave the machine, so the phone cannot spend them on its own.
It is early. It listens on your network only — nothing is exposed to the internet — and with agent
mode on, anything holding the key can run commands on the host, so treat the key the way you would
treat the machine.
A dropped picture is read, not redrawn.
Attaching an image used to mean one of two things, picked with a switch that defaulted to editing —
so a dropped screenshot with a question about it was sent to fal to be redrawn, and paid for. The
words decide now: "make the sky blue" is an edit, "what does this say" is a read, and a picture on
its own is a read. When the words could mean either, it asks instead of guessing.
One model control, and it covers all three jobs.
The top bar had a button for the chat model and another for the image model. It is now one control
with a tab each for what answers, what draws, and what edits — the image-to-image model was only
reachable from Settings before, and is now where you would look for it.
Written words arrive faster.
Text used to fade in over 240ms, which meant a word was still half-transparent when the next one
landed, so a burst from the model read as chunks. It is 140ms with a small stagger now, so a burst
cascades instead of appearing in one piece — and thinking fades the same way rather than arriving as
a block while you wait.
A Library that lists what you have actually made.
The Library row was disabled. It now reads the outputs folder off disk, newest first, with previews,
sizes and dates, and opens or reveals any file — so a picture outlives the chat that made it.
Fixes.
- A message sent from the phone no longer vanishes mid-turn. The phone re-reads the conversation
list every few seconds, and it was adopting the copy held by the host while a save was still on its way —
which is a copy that does not yet contain the words just typed. - The health address no longer reports who has visited the server to anyone who asks.
- The Pi workspace folder button is gone from the composer; the folder is chosen in Settings → Agent.
Install
Run WorkBuro-Setup-1.0.19.exe, or take WorkBuro-1.0.19-portable.exe if you would rather not
install anything. On an Apple silicon Mac, open the dmg.
Check your download against SHA256SUMS-1.0.19.txt on Windows, or SHA256SUMS-1.0.19-mac.txt on a Mac.
The builds are unsigned, so SmartScreen will ask on Windows, and macOS needs a right-click then Open
the first time.
