CEDAR Embeddable Editor 2.0.10 Release

CEE 2.0.10 embeds the public CEDAR Model TypeScript Library 1.0.8, released alongside it. The model library remains compiled into the browser bundle and is not a runtime dependency an embedding application has to resolve.

The release also carries the first version of a second element. Where the editor renders a whole template, cedar-embeddable-field renders one field's control and nothing of the form around it, which is what a designer collecting a default value needs.

What's New

  • A second custom element, cedar-embeddable-field, registered by the same bundle. Its value crosses the boundary as a discriminated union rather than as text: a literal, a number, an ISO temporal literal, an IRI with a label, a list of literals, or an attribute-value field's named slots. fieldObject takes a field artifact rather than a field model, because the element and its host hold separate copies of the model library. readOnlyMode presents rather than acquires, replacing an empty control with a statement of what the field will accept.
  • Every field the editor renders now goes through one component. The eighteen-way widget switch moved out of the component renderer into CedarFieldWidgetComponent, which the renderer and the new element both draw, so a widget added or rerouted reaches both.
  • A field specification shows every selected default, and literal and identifier defaults are read through the current model library.
  • A deployment's display labels and descriptions are honored.
  • The download menu names each entry by the artifact it produces, then the serialization, and lists the three template downloads before the three instance downloads.

Fixed

  • A value incompatible with the field it is assigned to is discarded rather than replayed after the assignment is rejected.
  • Reassigning cedar-embeddable-field.fieldObject recreates the control even when the field type is unchanged, so validators follow the new artifact.
  • cedar-embeddable-field emits valueChange when validity changes even if the normalized value does not, including numeric edits such as 1.5 to 1.50 and back.
  • The header and the fields are held to one inset.

Important Notes for Integrators

  • The bundle grows to 2,349,062 bytes, within the size gate.
  • An application embedding only cedar-embeddable-editor needs no change; the new element is additive and registered by the same bundle.
  • Pinning the new version is a manifest change plus a rebuild of the host: a manifest edit alone does not change a running frontend.
