0.61.0 Release Notes

Improvements / Bug Fixes:

  • Steam installation no longer fails on it's 2nd update window due to a winedbg error
  • The Rust backend has been replaced with a new C backend: 10x smaller and 20x as responsive, with 0 backend lossy issues.
  • Made the Sharp library more flexible and included bottle options for GOG launches
  • Installation now requires homebrew install, with an OSASCRIPT for any easy installation.
  • Installation now checks for / installs xcode tools cli for Steam -Webhelper wrapper
  • Installation now installs ZSTD with homebrew before beginning the install procedure
  • Added a homebrew tap to install metalsharp with brew and avoid any gatekeeper warnings
  • Bottle saves are now twice as responsive and validated.
  • Updated Forest and Beach Themes

New Features:

  • You can now install and manage PCSX2, RCPS3, ShadPs4, and SharpEmu (ps5) emulators from inside of metalsharp, play games from the sharp library directly, install / check for emulator updates, and more
  • Epic games library sync, login, bottle options, and launches now works through the Sharp Library
  • You can now install and manage GameJolt games from inside the Sharp Library
  • Rust backend replaced entirely with new C backend
  • Gog library can now launch games with a specific graphics pipeline
  • Fixed migration wizard leaving a stale backed-up runtime and stale steam session from wineboot -U
  • Cleaned up the look and feel of the Sharp Library

Extra:

  • Updated in-app update to recognize when a release DMG contains 'FEX' and allow the user to update to this runtime if user is on MacOS 27+ only. (This is for the next update). Explicit 'Ok' agreement / 'Cancel' agreement check before proceeding with installation.
