Battery health is now estimated with EVLog's own method, read directly from your completed charges. Degradation, capacity and range may shift slightly compared with 3.0 — the estimator changed, not your battery.

EVLog 3.0 is a major update.

The app now has a demo mode. With no server configured it starts in three weeks of built-in example data, so you can try every screen before pointing it at your own TeslaMate — and a switch in Settings takes you back to the demo any time.

The overview now says what the cable is doing — charging, scheduled, complete — and wears TeslaMate's own status glyphs for preconditioning, open doors and windows, tyre pressure and more. The car's name opens a spec sheet: model, VIN, efficiency, and with a Tessie key the car's own configuration.

Charge details now show what the battery heater and cabin climate drew while the car charged.

Short stops that cost the battery something show as parked rows instead of vanishing between two drives, places in charging statistics open into the charges behind them, average charging power is measured on the charger's side, and the antenna in the corner now means the app cannot reach your server — a sleeping car shows a moon.

The app now speaks English only, in metric or imperial units. Your region sets the default and a picker in Settings changes it.

EVLog now requires iOS 18.

Drives and Charges have become one Timeline. Each day reads as a flow: the drives, the charges, and the parking in between, with a row for every stop that says how long the car stood and what it cost the battery. When the odometer shows the car moved while nothing was logged, the row says so instead of pretending the car stood still.

You choose how far back the timeline reaches: the last week, the last month, this year or everything. A short period stays a small, quick load; the whole history is only fetched when you ask for it.

Swipe left and right inside a drive or a charge to step through the day without going back to the list.

A car left plugged in across several charging processes now shows as one charge, and dragging along the charging curve reads out the time, the power, the battery level and how much had gone in by then.

Drive details show energy and regen side by side, and consumption in Wh/km.

Plug-ins that never delivered anything no longer count as charges, and the dates in the list follow the language picked in the app.

This is the build Apple approved on 21 August, archived from this commit. It is the first version, so all of it is new: an overview of the car with battery and range, lock state, location, temperatures, Sentry, degradation and software version; drives grouped by day with a route map and a speed graph you can drag along; charges split into AC and DC with charging curves, added energy and cost, which Tessie can fill in if you use it; statistics by week, month and year, drilling down to a single day; battery health, countries visited, and a range map drawn from your own driving. English and Swedish, reading only from servers you run yourself.

main has moved on since this commit. The 2.0 milestone lists what the next version is meant to carry.
