What's new since mpv-v0.5.0

  • Engine synced to Omniphony v0.5.2 — the bundled fallback liborender is the v0.5.2 engine (linear-phase FIR crossover and the rest of the v0.5.1/v0.5.2 changes).
  • A/V sync with the new FIR crossover. liborender ABI 0.7 reports the engine's constant DSP latency and ad_orender now subtracts it from output timestamps, so lip sync holds even with a couple hundred milliseconds of linear-phase filtering. The symbol is optional: this mpv keeps working with older engines (no compensation, as before), and older mpv builds keep working with the new engine.

mpv-omniphony v0.5.2 — mpv with the ad_orender spatial audio decoder.

What's in each archive: mpv (or mpv.exe), a fallback engine library (liborender.so.* / orender.dll), orender.h, plus the bundled MinGW runtime DLLs on Windows. The live overlay is built into mpv itself — no script to install.

Engine loading: mpv loads liborender at runtime with an ABI version check, searching: --ad-orender-library / $ORENDER_LIBRARY → the engine deployed by Omniphony Studio (per-user data dir) → the copy bundled next to mpv → the system library path. Updating Omniphony Studio therefore updates the engine mpv uses, with no new mpv build.
