A maintenance release. One new community playlist, one community playlist grown by a third, two song years corrected, two dead Apple Music links repaired, a stray pill removed from the lobby, and one last login fix for the HA Android Companion app.
🎸 essential-alternative — a new community playlist
100 tracks of 90s and 2000s alternative rock — Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, REM, and the rest of the canon. Spans 1991–2011, plays on all five music providers. Requested through the in-app "request a playlist" funnel and added to the curated catalog the same week.
🎌 anime-openings — 39 more tracks
The community anime-openings playlist grew from 101 to 140 songs this release. The new additions span twenty years of opening and ending themes — Code Geass, Fairy Tail, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Suzume, and more.
🎵 Two more Apple Music URIs repaired
Apple Music keeps quietly retiring track IDs, and Beatify keeps catching up. Two more rounds of broken playback fixed:
- "Y.M.C.A." by Village People in greatest-hits-of-all-time — the ID was pointing at a "YMCA (Live)" recording that has since disappeared from the catalog; replaced with the 1978 studio original.
- "Prelude and Rooftop" by Bernard Herrmann in movies-100-greatest-themes — the Vertigo OST cue's old ID returned a 404 across all seven of Beatify's storefront regions; replaced with a verified ID from the official soundtrack album.
Both tracked down by the weekly automated playlist health-check.
📅 Two year corrections
- Jennifer Rush — "The Power of Love" is now tagged 1984 instead of 1985. The single came out in West Germany in December 1984; the famous UK release came in mid-1985, which is where the old tag came from. Reported in-game by Ingo.
- Axwell /\ Ingrosso — "Sun Is Shining" is now tagged 2015 instead of 2017. Reported in-game by Simon Herzog.
🧹 The lobby is a little tidier
The "2 playlists ready · Tap to install" pill that sat between the game-settings line and "Waiting for guests…" in the admin lobby is gone. It was useful information in the wrong place — playlist requests live in the setup view, not the lobby. The lobby is for the game.
🤖 HA Android Companion — one more login fix
If you opened Beatify in the HA Android Companion app on the latest version and still saw an "unauthorized" message on the admin screen, v3.4.4 closes that last gap. Thanks to @nelbs for the screenshot the same day v3.4.3 landed.
