💬 view --comments — read the discussion, not just the fields

Reading a ticket usually means reading what was already tried, what the reporter answered, and whether it is still relevant. That thread is now one flag away:

jira-wizard view ALDO-123 --comments # or -c
Comments (2)

No se necesitan cambios, validado hoy con Marina.

Reopened: it still fails on **staging**.

Oldest first, with author and date. Comment bodies go through the same ADF → Markdown converter as the description.

Behind a flag on purpose. Comments are not part of the issue payload, so they are a second request that every view would otherwise pay for whether or not anyone reads them — and on a long-running ticket they bury the fields under a wall of text.

Details worth knowing:

  • The comment endpoint paginates, and the client walks it to the end. Stopping at the first page would silently hide the newest comments, which are usually the ones that matter.
  • Only genuinely edited comments get an (edited …) marker: Jira sets updated to created on untouched ones, so an unconditional marker would be noise on every row.
  • In --json, an absent comments key means they were never requested — a different claim from a ticket having none, which is [].

Fixed

🐛 --version reported 1.0.0 on every release

The version string was hardcoded when the CLI was first written and never bumped again, so every release since — including the broken 1.1.0, where an accurate version in a bug report matters most — claimed to be 1.0.0.

It now comes from Composer's own record of what is installed: an installed package reports its tag, a checkout reports dev-master. The fallback is dev rather than a number, since a wrong version is worse than admitting the version is unknown.

Notes

  • Suite at 153 tests / 346 assertions, PHPStan level 5 and php-cs-fixer clean on PHP 8.1–8.3.
  • composer-runtime-api: ^2.0 added to require; it ships with Composer 2 itself, so there is nothing new to install.
