Software Engineering Git Tutorial

This repository is part of the Software Engineering course tutorial at BINUS University. It is designed to help students practice using Git and GitHub in a real-world software development workflow.

📘 Overview

In this tutorial, you will learn the following Git essentials:

• Setting up and cloning a repository
• Creating and switching branches
• Making changes and committing them
• Pushing changes to GitHub
• Opening a pull request for collaboration

✅ Your Task

Follow the steps below to complete your Git exercise:

1. Fork this repository
   Click the "Fork" button on the top-right of this page to create your own copy of the repo.

2. Clone the forked repository
   Open your terminal and run:

   git clone https://github.com/your-username/se-tutorial-git.git
   cd se-tutorial-git

3. Create a new branch
   Create and switch to a new branch (you may change the branch name as you like):

   git checkout -b tutorial-git

4. Edit the HTML file
   Open index.html in a text editor.

   • edit the file as creatively as possible
   • you can also add more files if you want

5. Commit and push your changes

   git add .
   git commit -m "Add my insight to index.html"
   git push origin tutorial-git

6. Create a pull request

   • Go to your forked repository on GitHub
   • Click "Compare & pull request"
   • Add a descriptive title and message
   • Click "Create pull request" to submit your changes
