LogicForge 0.20.1 — IC hover information and digital buses

Windows x64 and browser edition 0.20.1.

• Hover over a Custom IC on the canvas or in the library to see its name, creation/modification dates, component count and named input/output pins. Older ICs without stored dates show an explicit unknown date.
• Configurable 1–8-bit buses, matching encoders/decoders, pastel bus colors, a programmable value source and an 8-bit HEX/decimal display.
• Shared simulator, hierarchical ICs and proper multibit VCD export.

Validation: 812 engine checks, 102 web adapter checks, 17 JavaScript checks, actual published WebAssembly tests and 15 installer checks including the native Windows editor.

Use the Setup EXE for the complete Windows installation (MCP, examples and runtime included). The standalone EXE is the application only. The ZIP contains the browser distribution. Linux preview is released separately.

Native Linux x64 preview 0.20.1 with the shared LogicForge simulator and local MCP.

• Hover information for Custom ICs on the canvas and in the library: name, stored creation/modification dates, component count and named ports. Older ICs without dates explicitly show unknown.
• 1–8-bit buses, matching encoder/decoder, programmer and 8-bit HEX/decimal screen. Digital bus components are available in the digital library.
• Compatible .lfg projects and multibit VCD export.

Validation in Kali Linux / WSLg: 61 native editor checks, published binary/rendering tests and IC metadata/save checks.

Install the .deb with apt or extract the portable .tar.gz. Both include .NET; system libraries are required. Preview limitations remain: Polish UI, SmartWire UI and detachable panels are not yet ported.

Windows 10 / 11 x64. Self-contained offline installer with the .NET runtime and MCP server.

• Simplified properties panel: edits apply automatically, with validation and undo support.
• Digital net labels connect signals by name, including inside custom ICs.
• New digital-net example and the current shared simulation engine.
• Updates an existing installation while preserving user projects.

Validation: 696 engine checks, 79 automation/MCP checks and 15 installer checks, including native editor smoke tests.

This is the Windows release; browser-only interface changes are separate.

LogicForge Linux preview 0.18.1

Native Linux x64 preview of LogicForge, built with Avalonia and the shared simulator.

• Circuit editing, compatible .lfg projects, custom ICs, waveform display and simulation.
• Whole-circuit PNG/JPG and A4 PDF export. PNG/PDF export also works via local MCP without opening the editor window; a graphical session is required.
• Custom window frame and vector close buttons.
• Tested in Kali Linux / WSL2 / WSLg: 59 native editor checks and 22 MCP checks.

Install the .deb using apt, or extract the portable .tar.gz. Both include the .NET runtime; system-library dependencies are still required. See LINUX.md for details.

Preview limitations: the interface is currently Polish. SmartWire UI and detachable panels are not yet ported. WSLg refused minimization in unattended tests; physical dragging, resizing and minimization need interactive verification. CAD 3D is a separate project.

Improved language selection in the Windows application and installer.

• Flags and native language names use separate live templates in the selected field and dropdown.

• Official LogicForge logo is used on the website and repository.

This update improves automatic wire routing in LogicForge.

• Logic fan-out now shares a common route with branch dots.
• Separate nets avoid overlapping segments and closely packed long parallel runs when space allows.
• Stronger bend and crossing costs reduce unnecessary detours.
• Shared-tree path reconstruction respects terminal directions and rejects loops and U-turns.
• Existing project connectivity, pin coordinates and named-net behavior are preserved.
