Bug fixes

  • Passport card scanning flow: Fixed an issue where the scanning workflow would occasionally skip the back side of passport cards.
  • Single image mode cropping: Resolved edge cases in single image mode where document crop detection could fail or return inaccurate bounds.
  • Centenarian date logic: Solved two-digit birth-year rollover edge cases in MRZ and date parsing, ensuring precise age calculation for individuals aged 100+.

Other platform features

  • Passport-only extraction mode: new passportOnly flag in BlinkIdUxSettings. It accepts only passport booklets and guides the user to the data page with dedicated onboarding, help screens, and scanning instructions. Passport help/onboarding strings can be customized through the new blinkIdPassportHelpDialogsStrings in BlinkIdSdkStrings.
  • Configurable help tooltip timing: new helpTooltipShowDelay and helpTooltipHideDelay (Duration) in BlinkIdUxSettings (helpTooltipShowDelayMs / helpTooltipHideDelayMs in the Java-friendly constructor). If the show delay is zero or negative, the tooltip is never shown automatically.
  • Custom SDK strings provided through BlinkIdSdkStrings are now also applied to the shared UX components.
  • OTA resilience: if the engine rejects the cached OTA resources, the SDK now automatically retries initialization with the bundled resources instead of failing.
  • Updated compileSdk/targetSdk to 37 (Android 17) and NDK to r30.
