Butter v1.2.0
Added
This release includes a variety of QOL features that make using Butter more convenient than ever.
Terminals, in and out
Opening a shell in the new Butter process manager is easier than ever! Hitting the terminal button in the title bar while in the process manager spawns a new Rosemary shell, where you can invoke commands and interface with your macOS bottles easily.

Terminals can also be popped in and out of view freely, allowing complex workflows when necessary.

Faster downloads, less space
Butter will now automatically download .tar.zst rather than .tar.gz by default, preserving bandwidth when possible.
Fixed
- Butter now handles protocol URIs properly. This was supposed to be working last release, but we messed up. Our bad! You may need to recreate shortcuts to fix this.

Butter v1.1.0
Added
New Applications Menu
Butter 1.1.0 adds a brand new, rich Applications menu, automatically populated from apps installed inside your prefix and manually added by you.

Apps can be added as desktop shortcuts, allowing quick and easy access to them as if they were natively installed. They fully integrate with your host - If an app supports opening a file extension, a URL handler, anything, it can be opened up automatically in Butter. You won't believe it's Butter!

And more importantly, removing them is just as easy. Simply hit "Remove Shortcut" to get rid of it from your host applications menu. It really is that simple!

More Metal, more hardware
We've been hard at work crafting new Rosemary features and polishing them up in Butter. Butter can now set Rosemary's Metal presentation mode, fake the display refresh rate to applications, and select a GPU, all in a beautifully polished graphical interface.

We knocked down a load of other bugs with Rosemary's Metal translation in Rosemary v0.2.3, make sure to update your prefixes to it if you haven't already!
Environment variables, contained
And last but not least, we've reworked the way that applications in Rosemary obtain environment variables. Host environment variables are no longer blindly passed into macOS applications. This gives apps a consistent macOS environment that they know and expect, and keeps user control and container isolation intact. Environment variables can still be overridden the same as before, only with more safety and privacy by default.
